Fashion Show
The 2007-2008 Randolph Academy Fashion Show was held February 14 in the Randolph Central School Auditorium.
Cosmetology instructor Susan Jackson started off the show by introducing Myia H., who served as host for the event.
A video of cosmetology students talking about what the class is about and how it has positive impact on their lives began the show. The young people all explained how cosmetology is about much more than learning to "do hair and makeup." It's about life skills they will use not only now, but throughout their future. The class, according to those on the video, helps them feel good about themselves, take pride in how they look, and teaches them about respect for others and being responsible.
Following the video, the students took the stage to show off their hair, makeup, and formal wear. The dresses and tuxedos worn by the young people were from Fashions on Main in Falconer, New York.
While everyone changed clothes prior to the second fashion showing, a slide show was presented to the audience highlighting the atmosphere of the cosmetology classroom. Students were shown participating in the various activities involved in the program, along with beautiful shots of them posing after receiving makeovers. The presentation also included a "before and after" view of a male Randolph Academy student who showed up at the cosmetology classroom with hair going every-which-way, and left looking handsome and sharp.
The student/models then took the stage to show one more round of fashions.
The Fashion Show was well-attended, with many students, staff, and family members in the audience.
