Lori DeCarlo - Superintendent

In 1985, Mrs. DeCarlo began her career at Randolph Academy as a classroom teacher, a role she filled for 18 years. During that time, she also worked as a teacher on special assignment responsible for curriculum coordination and staff development. In 2003, she led the redesign of the behavior intervention program by integrating the use of Normative Culture strategies. When she was appointed Principal in 2004, Mrs. DeCarlo worked to strengthen the rigor of the academic program and partnerships with families. Since her appointment as Superintendent in July 2006, Mrs. DeCarlo has led the District’s initiative to implement a college preparation focus resulting in a growing percentage of graduates pursuing post secondary education.

“When I first came to Randolph, I had a spark of excitement over serving the special student population. That spark has grown over the years to become a very strong passion for me.

Our mission is to provide a therapeutic school environment that is a safe haven for students. We understand and anticipate our students’ need for support and have created a sophisticated scaffold of services to attain good outcomes for our students.

Our staff is comprised of highly skilled veterans whose dedication to students is second to none! The longevity of our staff speaks well of the satisfaction they find in working with our students.

In my personal life, I am the parent of children with special needs. This experience strongly influences my work as Superintendent. I use the “my child rule” as a standard in making program decisions: it has to be suitable for “my child” or it isn’t good enough!”
